Community Feedback

In June we asked consumers what they thought about food safety. More than 1200 consumers responded that food safety was a concern to them.

The poll question and results are below:

Congress is considering legislation to change the way America regulates its food supply. When it comes to food safety, how concerned are you?

1) Very Concerned. I make sure my family and I eat healthy. That includes checking the news regularly to learn about any potential food safety risks and doing everything I can to make sure that the food I purchase won’t hurt my family.

2) Moderately Concerned. I pay attention when food-borne illnesses are covered in the news, but I don’t proactively look for information on food safety.

3) Not Concerned.
I’ve heard about food contaminated with salmonella and other food-borne diseases, but it hasn’t affected the way I shop for and consume food.

(Conducted June, 2009 and based on roughly 1200 votes)
