The three Walmart Supercenter stores under construction in Corpus Christi are slated to open in the fall, officials announced Friday.
Company and local officials as well as local dignitaries attended Friday’s groundbreaking for two of the stores, the site at Cimarron and Saratoga boulevards and the one at the former Parkdale plaza. The third, a 155,000-square foot store in Flour Bluff, will have its own groundbreaking, said Walmart spokeswoman Kellie Duhr.
The new stores will be equipped with energy-efficient technology to minimize water and electricity use, said Carlos Ramirez, the area’s market manager. They also will feature wider aisles and lower shelves, which will allow customers to see across the store, he said.
