Wal Mart job fair draws hundreds in Cecil County, Md.
September 2nd, 2010 | Uncategorized Source: Newark Post [DE]Cecil County’s third major job fair in four months drew hundreds of potential applicants to the Elkton area on Tuesday.
The Susquehanna Workforce Network’s headquarters at 216 E. Pulaski Highway was packed with job seekers hoping to find work at the soon-to-be completed Super Walmart in North East.
Store manager Lloyd Rabuck said the expanded Walmart in the North East Plaza shopping center, near the intersection of West Pulaski Highway and North East Road, plans to hire as many as 250 additional employees before grand re-opening slated for Nov. 10. “It will be nice to have that many new jobs in Cecil County,” Rabuck said as he watched a steady stream of potential new employees file into the center.
Tuesday’s event at the Susquehanna Workforce Network, a nonprofit organization that provides occupational services in Cecil and Harford counties, allowed job seekers to peruse descriptions of the new positions and speak with current Walmart staff from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
