Walmart handing CT nonprofits $153K

Three youth-focused nonprofits — Connecticut Science Center, Junior Achievement and First Tee of Connecticut– are recipients of $153,600 in grants from The Walmart Foundation’s Connecticut State Giving Council.

Hartford-based Junior Achievement of Southwest New England will receive $75,000; First Tee in Rocky Hill is getting $50,000; and $28,600 is going to the year-old science center, located in downtown Hartford.

Junior Achievement educates students about workforce readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs.
